The ledger, explained

The Bath Ledger is the San Diego record of what bathroom remodeling really costs. We don't sell remodels — we record what licensed contractors publish, what the City requires, and what real timelines look like, so you can request quotes with the numbers already in hand.

How a figure gets published

  1. Sourced. Every number starts on a named source — a San Diego contractor's own price page, a City of San Diego Development Services bulletin, a state license record.
  2. Written with the source attached. A range is always one source's range, dated. We never blend published prices into a fake "market average."
  3. Re-checked against the source. Before a page goes live, each figure is read again against the page it came from — and the source stays linked so you can do the same.
  4. Kept current. Each page carries its publish and update dates, and the ledger is updated as contractors publish new pricing.

What we promise

  • No number without a name. Every figure traces to its source, linked or named on the page.
  • Corrections, fast. Spot a figure that drifted? Tell us on the contact page — fixes land with a visible "Updated" date.
  • Straight answers. If sources disagree, we show the disagreement instead of hiding it.

Who makes the ledger

The ledger is researched and written by Rachel Nguyen — the working byline of our research desk. We are independent researchers, not licensed contractors: what we add is sourcing discipline, and every page shows its sources so you can check us.
