By using The Bath Ledger (the "site") you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

What this site is — and is not

The Bath Ledger is an independent editorial guide. The cost ranges, permit rules and timelines we publish are attributed to named third-party sources (contractors' own published pricing, City of San Diego publications, state license records) and reviewed for accuracy before publishing. They are general information, not an estimate, bid or quote for your project, and prices change. Always confirm figures with a licensed contractor and, for permit questions, with the City of San Diego Development Services Department before making decisions.

We are not a contractor, and nothing on this site creates a contractor-client, professional or fiduciary relationship. Any work you hire out is a contract between you and the contractor you choose.

Quote requests

Submitting a quote form asks us to introduce you to one or more licensed remodeling contractors, who will contact you under the consent you give on the form (see our Privacy Policy). The service is free to you; we are compensated by partner contractors for introductions. We do not guarantee that a contractor will take your project, quote a particular price, or perform any work — and we are not a party to any agreement you make with them. Verify any contractor's license with the California Contractors State License Board before hiring.

Using our content

The site's content (text, data compilations, images, design) belongs to The Bath Ledger. You may read, share links to, and quote brief excerpts of our pages with attribution and a link. You may not republish whole pages, scrape the site into a competing product, or use our content to train a commercial dataset without written permission.

Third-party links

We link to third-party sites (contractor pricing pages, official lookups). We don't control them and aren't responsible for their content or practices.

No warranty

The site is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Figures can lag the market between review dates.

Limitation of liability

The site and the introduction service are provided free of charge. To the fullest extent allowed by law, The Bath Ledger is not liable for any damages of any kind arising from the site or from decisions made in reliance on published figures — including direct, indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages — and our aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us to use the site, which is zero. Where applicable law does not allow such a limitation, our liability is limited to the smallest amount that law permits.

Governing law

These terms are governed by California law. Any dispute belongs in the state or federal courts located in San Diego County, California.

Changes

We may update these terms; the current version is always posted here with its effective date. Using the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
